AKMS works in close business cooperation and interaction with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, to benefit from the ICC expertise and assist it in developing the e-commerce incentives in the Arab world. These two institutions, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Sultanate of Oman, held a comprehensive conference on “Facing the Challenges of E-commerce”.
This Conference issued the Muscat Declaration, aimed at establishing an Arab international task force to identify the e-commerce challenges in the Arab region. This initiative aims at supporting the creation of an Arab economic environment based on knowledge, developing creativity, improving Arab productivity and competitiveness in the world economy which is based on knowledge.
The task force initiates the support of the implementation of technical and legal business programs in the Arab countries in order to formulate a comprehensive e-commerce environment that includes strategies related to the development of the infrastructure, e-culture, laws, privatization, and capacity building. AKMS always places the Arab region at the core of its interests, efforts, and commitments.
